2021 writeup

 I’ll be honest 2021 was not as good as 2020... the second year of the “Covid era” however was still much better than several years in the 2010s.... mind you that’s not a hard achievement.  It still beats the bottom three which was 2015, 2016 and 2019 but I’m not gonna give it a ranking in that era as the Covid era is unique with a unique set of challenges... most of them good as you know I’m not Arderns biggest critic regarding this countrys handing of the pandemic.  

But unfortunately other shit happened as well which is normally bad.  I’ve had longtime friend Aston living with me which was the main difference to 2020... which was mostly spent alone.  Aston has been here most of the year... save for a few days at the beginning.  Things haven’t really worked out regarding the plans for me and him... and his gf Nancy... who also resided here on occasions.  that said he’s one of the better flat mates which explains why he’s still here after a year when others don’t last a month lol.

However my cat Rocket passed away in the middle of the year after his condition deteriorating for majority of the year until his passing in June.

The highlights of the year have been the Wellington trips along with my trip up North to see another friend.  Of course we had another level 4 lockdown which whilst awesome as allways it wasn’t as good as the one in 2020.  we haven’t actually fully recovered from Delta as I write this as we are still in restrictions... mostly mask mandates and of course the vaccine thing... which I got my two as well... breaking a 28 year old drought between vaccines... my last jab before those was in 1993 for tetanus.

the other big plus of the year was me starting Uber eats... which has been awesome... the eventual goal is to do that full time as my only job as I intend t9 leave Hells Pizza next year ... prob after I bring up my 4 years there. I haven’t set a date for my leaving of the Heralds... that’s dependant on a number of factors... run ins with idiots being one of them. Apart from a small incident at the end of the year there wasn’t a repeat of the Nov 2020 incident that basically ruined 2020... stopped it from becoming a top 5 year.  Anyway 2021 was certainly not “top 5” material regarding years from 2005 onwards but certainly wasn’t bottom 5 either... but no idea the actual ranking cos not only am I not ranking it but the categorys have changed into ERAs and the ERA before the Covid era is from 2008 to 2019... the preceding ERA is from 1997 to 2007 or the ten years of separation.... actually 1998 to 2007 as 1997 was a transition year. 

Anyway that’s 2021... ending with us getting on top of delta and staring down the barrel of omicron.

BUSY BUSY BUSY but great timing

Well it looks like im staying in Howick now.  Since my last post there has been issues with another Howick postie... but for a different reason and nothing to do with work.  there are two quotes which ring true in my mind at da mo... both relating to arguing.... i hate argueing... its a gross waste of time and energy... time and energy which i dont have at da mo.  I will also only argue my point if i think there is hope in resolving a crisis... and this latest crisis is beyond help imo.  It definately doesnt need my input anyway... and now that im run off my feet at work with day after day of 3pm finishes (used to finish at midday) i see no need to flog a dead horse... id rather just watch it decompose... ashes to ashes, dust to dust. Currently experiencing issues with my internet... changed over to a different net company and whilst the connection itself is working well... my laptop doesnt seem to be towing the line so im on my Vodem which at my place has bad rec...

Jaxx 40th

yes it finally being written up haha... here it is. All fears of any flashpoints between me and Eva were quickly put to rest as we both got along well for setting up the balloons etc.... but i was basically in my "i'm a male i'm there to EAT" state. i had no intention at all of dancing... well the rest is history really as i DID dance. I did manage to get down to 80kgs for the party as i had hoped to do... anyway rolled up to Skots place with Stipe and stoked the male psyche by talking about food and metal whilst watching MMA cage fighting on the tele.  The 5 of us then piled into my car... me, David, Stipe, Skot and Duff... i was the only one under 100kgs... our total weight was over half a ton lols but white lightning was up to da task. Once at da CNB however i put on my more girly state (similiar to what i was like in 2008 and 2009)... danced, posed and even kissed Jaxx under the kissing bell.  Lots of alcohol was drunk but i didn't drink.  quite funny as...

HOLIDAYS

I'm in the middle of my longest break from work since i started at nzp.  it's goin well btw and i've had LOTS of sleep hahaha.  as for a genuine holiday (ie when it's just ME that's not working) i dunno yet.  i didn't put in for holidays during may but at da mo i'm not fussed.  My entitlement starts in August but remember that i do plan on having a month in OZ next Jan.... of course that may not occur.  i will be taking holidays as i'm entitled to them however as i don't want to have anything owing to me in view of what happened with maccas and the fiasco surrounding that.
