run 49

yep i've been on the new run for a few days now but i was back on 54 for a day by myself.... and that day wasn't without its drama as i had a complaint about me not delivering held mail on 31st august... it was a simple mistake and i was was annoyed with myself than anyone else was and just showed me that i'm really not quick enough for a run of that stature... well i am but i get jittery and take shortcuts and my organization suffered and a run that size will punish ya if you ain't on your game. Because of this i'm much more focussed on sorting fast which means a return to da mp3 player and yet another attempt at quietening down.

With da switch to 49 i can sorta get myself organised as i don't need to rush as much... due to it being one of the smallest runs.

both inside and outside this run is small, yet lacks the brutal hills of 23. my approach to this run is vastly different to 23. on 23 i struggled with the inside... but outside i went supersane fast. The opposite is true on this run.... i'm trying to sort the mail as qucik as possible... but on the outside i'm having a picnic... this is also due to Liz our team leader telling us to keep to our times. Remember i was taken off 23 becasue i was coming back at 11am even on a thursday and friday (normal finish time is allmost 2pm on those days).

by rushing the sorting you can't get complaints.... but the redirections and delivery are the two main complaint zones. by going slow outside i minimize delievery complaints and by speeding the sorting i am less likely to rush the redirections, holds etc. This run of course gets way less of these than 54 did... then again 54 got SHITLOADS of them. as an allround run its is the Alpha male for sure... but you get paid like one too.... i'm taking a $75 paycut by changing to 49 due to no petrol and bag allowance (its a bikeout run as its a lot closer than 54 ). And thats what i do now... i bike out... yet another weight off my mind... i prefer biking out.

whats 49 like? its got the best bits of 42 and 23... its short like 23 but sweet like 42... in short it rocks.... i'll be relishing my time on this run because as you know... they will eventually put me on another run and whilst anything is easier than 54... there are other runs that are also known beasties... 31 is the longest, 32 is also a bit of a handful i've been told.... and 34 is the hilliest run in pakuranga. other interesting runs are 45 and 35 (both very rich areas) and the infamous 41 with the pakuranga plaza. there is also 53 which is next door to 54 but smaller run... nearly allways less mail but with it fair share of hills and of course being a rich area... redirections, holds and no shortage of ppl who complain lol.

hey in other news i may be getting yet another kite. i bought a harness the other day and are hinting even more at a full blooded return to the crazy sport of kiting. certainly not fully there yet and to be honest i doubt i ever fully will be all the whilst i'm a postie.... certainly not yet anyway... i'm not fast enuf at my job to dictate my finishing time.

also a factor is my social life.... when my friends are keen to hang.... my kiting sorta takes a back seat. a month ago when i thought it was over between me, jaxx and eva my kiting exploded into life. however i can feel a slow but sure gravitation towards full blooded kitesurfing as friendships dry up.... jaxx is moving to OZ, Andrew is currently overseas and he's busy with Tania now, Bex is pregnant again so out of commission for the next 7 months... and even afterwards shes too busy to hang out. Duff is sorta off and on... allways poor, allways busy.. and now is on 022 network (2 degrees)... which means it costs me money to txt him... same with bex i mite add. Eva at da mo is the main muskateer than i hang with but this is temporary... the minute she gets settled she too may drift away. Tim and Grant are different. Grant and i will allwasy see each other cos we both kitesurf. Tim doesn't kitesurf but hangs with grant and does other stuff that i'm into, carveboarding, surfing, mountainbiking etc.... so me Tim and Grant will prob be friends for life... but this only reinforces the eventuall drift to full blooded kitesurfing and the evnetual drift away for the socialite that i bacame last year... you know the one... the dressy, flirty, huggy, poofy metrosexual that hangs with girls. hahahaha
