 Yep Omicron has entered the chat and with it the country plunged into its strictest non lockdown setting.  The traffic light system focusses on seating and masks at venues as opposed to limiting a persons activities and movements so technically not a lockdown… not even a level 3.   for me however this means that I’m staying home and staying away from cafes and socialising however in special circumstances I may still do so.   Under orange I made sure I got tested before I did anything but under red I don’t need to as I’m not doing anything… so gives the nose a bit of a breather.   Haven’t had the RAT test yet though but these are gonna be introduced as arguably the main means of routine testing in an established outbreak whereas the PCR test will be mostly for ppl with symptoms.  I wonder when the RAT tests will be used in the testing stations.  Anyway RED LIGHT.  from those coming from my Facebook page… good afternoon… fb page will be offline onc...

 I’ll be honest 2021 was not as good as 2020... the second year of the “Covid era” however was still much better than several years in the 2010s.... mind you that’s not a hard achievement.  It still beats the bottom three which was 2015, 2016 and 2019 but I’m not gonna give it a ranking in that era as the Covid era is unique with a unique set of challenges... most of them good as you know I’m not Arderns biggest critic regarding this countrys handing of the pandemic.   But unfortunately other shit happened as well which is normally bad.  I’ve had longtime friend Aston living with me which was the main difference to 2020... which was mostly spent alone.  Aston has been here most of the year... save for a few days at the beginning.  Things haven’t really worked out regarding the plans for me and him... and his gf Nancy... who also resided here on occasions.  that said he’s one of the better flat mates which explains why he’s still here after a year when ...

 Once 2022 starts I’ll be writing up 2021.  Part of the COVID or “4th ERA” of course as is 2020.   My main Facebook page is offline again... the algorithms on that site are just too over reaching. just on here now and maybe a website.  If not then this site will be the last thing I delete regarding my online presence.  As I said before I write as though I’m the only person who reads what I say.... cos let’s be honest... I probably am. 

 Dividing my existence so far into Elder Scrolls style ERAs.  I mite as well since it’s the franchise I’m currently into the most at da mo.  5 eras... the Merithic ERA, 1st ERA, 2nd ERA, 3rd ERA and 4th ERA... just like on Elder Scrolls.   The 4th Era is the current one we in and it’s the COVID Era... 2020 to current. The 3rd ERA is the one that I’ve been doing most of the yearly write ups on and that’s the “social Era” or the “pre COVID era”. This is from 2008 - 2019.  The 2nd ERA is the so-called “ten years of separation”  and this was from 1997 - 2007. The 1st ERA is the teenage Era from 1987 - 1996 and the merethic ERA my pre teens years of 1976 - 1986.    I will be comparing the years of the pre COVID era in a head to head battle as this was a very turbulent period of my existence and for the most part these years sucked ass... but taught me a few things.  As for which years sucked the most ass... I’ve already ranked them but will do it ...

As you may be aware I thought about this long and hard and weighted up the risks or both the vaccine and catching COVID.  The fact that COVID seems to cause the immune system to over react was a big factor as I know I couldn’t just rely on my immune system to fight it.   Secondly I thought I’d need a pass to see my parents in a retirement village but actually has changed and all I need now  is a negative test result from either a PCR or a RAT test.   PCR results can take ages to come back so when they do Rapid Antigen Testing at the village then I’ll go there and get done anyway as I don’t rely on the vaccine to stop me spreading anything… but unlike others that’s not the reason I got jabbed.  Thirdly I did NOT get jabbed for the “team of 5 million”.  That so-called team has never been there for me so this is purely a selfish decision to get jabbed… I don’t care about anyone… on either side.  I got jabbed for MYSELF and myself ONLY.   In other new...

 Haha yea know how much I love being stuck at intersections…. But alas I ain’t talking about intersections… I’m referring to COVID and the new system for managing how we live with Delta and now Omicron.  After the realisation that COVID is here to stay the new system is designed more for controlling foot traffic at stores etc and for those who haven’t had their two shots a red literally means STOP.  I think it’s a good idea as it doesn’t really affect places like beaches etc and for vaccinated ppl everything is open… just that precautions are taken in stores at red light setting like masks and spacing etc.   As mentioned before the vaccine is the centre piece of this new system and along w h scanning for contact tracing now we also need to be scanned for proof of our two shots.  The entire vaccine pass system reminds me of the WOF and rego system for cars… and like the WOF I’ll be fitting the boosters in with the expertly dates of the passes…. Yes they expire. ...

 Ok funs over back to work haha. In about 4 hours time Auckland is going back into level 3 which means holidays over for me and all my gigs are back online.   Damn and I was just getting into being a lazy bum… it was really good!  But level 3 also has its perks… traffic is still pretty low so doing deliveries will be easier than normal… and im expecting lots of them too… Uber goes back online in a few hours and I know there will be hordes of hungry ppl just itching for the return of takeaways…. Haha myself included.
