10 years on......

On may 4th 1999 my mate Stipe rang me up to tell me that another friend Justin North had died whilst playin da computer. Since then alot has happened and thinking about this sudden passing 10 years on and remembering a gr8 mate and someone who we hung around with quite a bit at church. I admit to having all sorts of mental states after i heard da news... even jealosy and i didn't goto his funeral... something which i prob should have done.

in da years that followed my life did change somewhat... i lost weight, started maccas and suffered several bouts of anxiety.... dunno if the anxiety was da result of Justins death or not. I was into windsurfing at da time but as you prob know i'm into kitesurfing now.... amazing what happens in 10 years as well.... friendships have ended... many others have started.... but ppl loike Andrew and Tim have been friends with me before Justins death and are still friends with me to this day. Others however have not lasted..... Josh Hercock.... one of my main friends in da late 90s hasn't associated with me since 2005. Friendship didn't officially end... we just got sidetracked and stopped keepin in touch. Since then a new breed of mates emerged via maccas.... Jaxx, Eva, Duffy, Calvin, Bex and Shell are all a product of da maccas train lol.

Maccas itself ended in 2008 and with nzpost its now back to da pre 2000 setup where i don't hang with workmates outside work.

speaking of nzpost.... you may recall me talking about da new run they were puttin me on.... after going back on my old run for the last month they have now put me back on da new run... by highland park... done this run several times now... its shorter and hillier than da previous run i was on at prince regent. i'm still sorting da old run inside but next week will be fully on da new run. i have actually swapped with da girl who was on dat run... she is now doin prince regent... and likes it too lol

BUSY BUSY BUSY but great timing

Well it looks like im staying in Howick now.  Since my last post there has been issues with another Howick postie... but for a different reason and nothing to do with work.  there are two quotes which ring true in my mind at da mo... both relating to arguing.... i hate argueing... its a gross waste of time and energy... time and energy which i dont have at da mo.  I will also only argue my point if i think there is hope in resolving a crisis... and this latest crisis is beyond help imo.  It definately doesnt need my input anyway... and now that im run off my feet at work with day after day of 3pm finishes (used to finish at midday) i see no need to flog a dead horse... id rather just watch it decompose... ashes to ashes, dust to dust. Currently experiencing issues with my internet... changed over to a different net company and whilst the connection itself is working well... my laptop doesnt seem to be towing the line so im on my Vodem which at my place has bad rec...

Jaxx 40th

yes it finally being written up haha... here it is. All fears of any flashpoints between me and Eva were quickly put to rest as we both got along well for setting up the balloons etc.... but i was basically in my "i'm a male i'm there to EAT" state. i had no intention at all of dancing... well the rest is history really as i DID dance. I did manage to get down to 80kgs for the party as i had hoped to do... anyway rolled up to Skots place with Stipe and stoked the male psyche by talking about food and metal whilst watching MMA cage fighting on the tele.  The 5 of us then piled into my car... me, David, Stipe, Skot and Duff... i was the only one under 100kgs... our total weight was over half a ton lols but white lightning was up to da task. Once at da CNB however i put on my more girly state (similiar to what i was like in 2008 and 2009)... danced, posed and even kissed Jaxx under the kissing bell.  Lots of alcohol was drunk but i didn't drink.  quite funny as...

HOLIDAYS

I'm in the middle of my longest break from work since i started at nzp.  it's goin well btw and i've had LOTS of sleep hahaha.  as for a genuine holiday (ie when it's just ME that's not working) i dunno yet.  i didn't put in for holidays during may but at da mo i'm not fussed.  My entitlement starts in August but remember that i do plan on having a month in OZ next Jan.... of course that may not occur.  i will be taking holidays as i'm entitled to them however as i don't want to have anything owing to me in view of what happened with maccas and the fiasco surrounding that.
