2006

I started 2006 by having some time off and going down to wellington... to both see my brother and also to do some kitesurfing.  had a great time in welly.  On my return it was apparent that i was missed bigtime at maccas... at this stage i was probably at my peak at maccas.... kiting was going great and so was work... so at this point of time there was no way i was gonna switch to post.... of course contrast this with July of 2008 which was my lowest point at maccas and of course i had got frustrated with kitesurfing. got some new gear in 2006 and some young guys were getting inot the sport... started in 2005... pushed further in 2006 these guys would be the top kiters by the end of the year... and with it things got tense between us.  This of course was one of the things that eventually would kill off kiting for me (at least temporarily) but initially it only made me keener to nail the new moves and get some credability back (which i never did).  Another factor th...

2005

2005 was a year of transition for me.  At 29 years of age this was the year that i finally left home.  Other than that it was a year spent mostly kitesurfing and working at maccas. At the start of the year i was promoted to fulltime maintenence at maccas.  To start with i was working under someone.... but when he left in the middle of the year i was basically in charge and thats when things finally got really good at maccas.  Under new management and ownership things were allready brilliant there and me and Amon got on really well.  With my kitesurfing going well and my job going well there was no way i was heading to nzpost anytime soon.  Things were sweet.  However the big move was in the back of my mind... it was gonna happen this year. I was still a kitesurfing addict and yet to meet any of my recent group of friends.  The only "muskateers" i had met at this stage were Calvin and Bex.  It would be another year before i would run into ...

2004

The desire to kite kite kite was right there... i kited the first 3 days in marginal conditions... however on the morning of the 4th day i convulsed in my sleep and popped out my right shoulder.  in severe pain i managed to put it back in with my family lookin on.  However i was now out of action for quite a while.  This meant i had heaps of time to spare and plenty of kiteforums to chat on. In 2003 i started making a nuisance on kiteforum.co.nz but nothing major happened.  This year however i would get offside with most of akls kiters.  And kiteforum.co.nz was the way it happened. I was banned from that site at the end of Jan and then had big arguments with Tim and his mate Lance on Tim's kiteforum as a result.  Tim was in Scotland, Lance was in Perth.  I had got quite territorial about NZ and took Lance's comments about akl wind as quite offensive.  Everyone chose to hate me as allways and they sided with Lance.  This immediately got me...

off work again today

the cold has returned... gonna nail it good n proper this time. off work at da mo... tomorrow as well.  weight is now at 86.2kgs with 15% bodyfat... time to slowly reduce that for the summer.  will be spring cleaning over the next 3 months too

Battling a cold

had yesterday off work... about to head into work today.... still not 100% but looks like i've beaten the illness... just the aftermath to deal with now..... gonna eat lots too... gr8 excuse for it haha. Great time at Parakai the other day.... will definately be going there again.  As a result of my cold i'm now tipping the scales at over 86kgs.... as i plan to eat lots today as well to combat any complications occuring this weight could go even higher.  My highest ever weight is just over 87kgs

Another Parakai outing tonite

This will be my third hot pools outing this month.  A few of us are going... me, Andrea, Stipe, Eva and Boris... that makes 5 of us so can go in one car... will it be mine? :P haha Anyway working soon... been doing different runs as of late... changing around but still no brand new run for me.  The last time i was on a brand new run was in Jan when i started 53.  I did 53 again yday and looks like i'm on it today too.  However in the next few weeks i could be starting 32.  This is a fullblooded pakuranga run... it doesn't get anymore pakuranga than this.  I've heard different stories about this run... some say it one of the harshest runs in our area (size, hills, mail etc)... others say its real easy if you do it certain ways.  it still stands that in terms of size the 3 runs that take the longest are 31, 32 and 54 in our area.  PS i know that recently someone got fired by nzpost due to him making dodgy remarks about a coworker etc etc on a blog...

Mood changes.... issues

Firstly i had another great outing to Parakai last sat nite.  A week later i hung out at skots place with Eva, Wazza, Boris, Skot and David.  Fish n chips at da start... alcohol start flowing and at da start was good to hang around with moderately drunk ppl who in general can handle me better than sober ppl.  Unfortunately once Wazza went from moderately drunk to VERY drunk his mood changed from happy to angry and that was the cue to me to head of home.  it sorta all fell to bits in the space of 5 minutes... me and David (neither of us drank alcohol) saw it all unravelling.  I now have a renewed hatred for "Satans blood" (what i used to call alcohol back in the day) and whilst quite as against it as what i was before 2004 i certainly don't see it as a fun thing anymore (my mates were more fun when they drank it haha).  Everyone else was good.... Wazza was the only one who got aggro.  I'm good mates with Wazza normally so can see how alcohol is responsi...
